We were back in the Studio for Week Seven. This time I had managed to persuade Elizabeth and Lara to come along to be models. They did a fantastic job - all for the price of a McDonald's - and I think they enjoyed it too.
We first used a black background with a single light. As you can see the shadows are strong. Next was the white background (photos have had Auto Level adjustment in Photoshop). Shadows again a bit of a problem. Something to look at next week?

If you look at the shadow to the left of her nose it looks quite clearly defined, whilst I would have preferred it softer. Also it looks as though you had the light at right angles to her head and I would have preferred it at 45 degrees perhaps.
thanks for your comments. The lighting for Elizabeth's picture was a brolly and she was sitting far too close. Ian has improved it a lot in Photoshop but still not perfect. I did think at the time that, possibly, the light should have been higher - pointing downwards? Something to try next week - perhaps.
I agree with Stephen on the Elizabeth shot, I would prefere the light at 45 deg, and with you it may have been better higher up pionting down.
