This week will see the Adobe World Champion for 2014 crowned in Anaheim, California

Here in the UK we're currently in the midst of the Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow, Scotland so it was borderline topical to receive news of another world standard championship. It cam in the form of an email from Adobe which highlights an event I had not heard of until today, the opportunity to compete for the title of Adobe Certified Associate World Champion.

According to Adobe: "This week, 32 students from 17 countries are gathering at Disneyland, California, to compete to be named best in the world at using Adobe software tools. These students have competed in their respective countries and earned the right to travel to the USA for the final round of competition. They will have 8 hours and will be asked to use Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator to create a poster for a real world client, Kiva."

Qualification took place earlier in over 60 countries resulting in 31 finalists from 17 countries congregating this week for the grand finale.

I'm certainly looking forward to the work the winners produce. The top prize is $5,000.
