As some DPNow regulars know, the Burley household includes a small flock of rescued ex-battery hens. They have been coping with the recent cold and snowy weather very well, although today the egg production was slightly unusual. In the picture you can see one of the eggs from today on the left, a normal 72g example. But also found in the next box today, a 20g pygmy of an egg. This is a very rare occurrence and just had to be recorded photographically.

#2Ian commented20-12-10, 08:35 AMEditing a commentActually, the small egg is in focus, but the big one is only partially in focus, probably because of limited depth of field. The big egg has already been eaten!
