Earlier this week we felt we had a moral victory after respected camera bag maker, Lowepro, responded humbly to concerns raised by us about shockingly restrictive terms and conditions for the any entries to its new 'My Favorite Things' photography competition. Lowepro promised to alter the competition rules accordinly, but this appears to have been half-baked and our resident Lowepro competition watchdog, John Maw, points out that the modifications to the rules do not meet expectations raised by the earlier statement from Lowepro.

In simple terms, Lowepro appears to maintain fundamental restrictions on entrants' rights to use their own work entered for the competition, regardless of whether or not they are placed as winners. So while the PR side of Lowepro has attempted to pour oil on troubled waters, it looks insincere.

In what is beginning to feel a bit like a saga, we have asked for further comment and clarification from Lowepro and of course we'll bring an update to you as soon as we receive it.
