David Bailey remains one of the most famous and recognisable photographers - at least here in the UK. The phrase, "Who do you think you are, David Bailey?!" perfectly describes Bailey's cheeky demeanour, although he prefers to don a stern, almost grumpy persona when he is photographed.
This is a good example, taken at an Olympus UK publicity event last night:

Seconds earlier he was laughing, joking and being very mischievous.

Despite being hired to promote Olympus' new Pen E-P1 compact interchangeable lens digital camera, Bailey couldn't resist saying he still didn't think much of digital and that his favourite camera format was 10x8 (inches - a plate film camera!).
He also says doesn't like photographing famous people any more.
But the highlight of his Q&A session was the revelation that before "Who do you think you are, David Bailey?" became famous, his mates used to chime: "David Bailey, makes love daily."
