The EOS-300D is not a particularly compact camera, though it is slightly less tall than an EOS-10D, for example. Prosumer fixed lens cameras like the Nikon CoolPix 5700 and Minolta Dimage 7/A1 are significantly smaller and lighter compared to the 300D plus lens. The 300D's finish is a rather garish silver plastic. A black edition must surely be on Canon's roadmap?
