heres one of my regular little garden visitors, his name is mr jingles & he's a little field mouse that likes to visit either early hours or late evening in the hope of some grub.pic is not very good due to outside lighting & having to take through the glass patio doors
it was taken in west wales, at the end of my garden. couldn't say what it is, probly not a mouse as the body was a little too short.. could be a vole.
Next time i saw the critter the neigbours cat had been at it.. shame

brilliant!
I went out the other day to look in the garden, and saw Jeremy (my cat) looking very alert, sure enough, there was a little mouse in the corner, ran in to get my camera to pop a picture on this thread, alas by the time I had returned he was gone
Mr Jingles eh? Named after one of the finest films ever made, The Green Mile?

yep mr.jingles from the green mile, one of our fav films never tire of watching it.i dont have prob of cat eating him just my jack russel chasing him but i have to be carefull of next doors cats as they got the 3 blue tits i DID have in the garden.im trying to catch a decent pic of my fox that i feed every night but just cant seem to get settings right as its dark in my kitchen but have street lights outside by my garden
If you can, try waiting outside for the fox. If he's turning up for food he will get used to you being out there with him. Keep very still, and don't approach him or move your arms rapidly (fast movement tends to make them scarper). In time you'll probably be able to get very close indeed. They don't seem too worried by flash, though you sometimes get eyeshine.
Not the best of pictures, but shot through the back door window. He has disapeared for a while (well, I say he, chances are its a different squirell altogether), but I am pleased they are coming back.
Loads of these in the pond this year - about the size of my thumb-nail!
Could be mum?
We had loads of dragonflies (Ruby Darter?) around the pond this year
Looks more like a moth than a butterfly (a skipper?)
We get plenty of birds in the garden (I think the the pond helps) from wrens up to herons (the pond again!). We always have plenty of feeders up too, so perhaps it's about time I had a crack at bird photography.
