Due to the recent weather photography has been on the back burner to some extent.
Walking along the canal today I thought a visit to the Castle grounds might result in constructing a series of pix to put on dpnow. Alas, as I climbed a few steps in the entrance to the grounds I was met with a snow flurry. I was able to take three images and had to give up.
I am able through two pictures that I took coupled with links to show you what a splendid Castle this once was. You will note the constuction started in the year 1066. The following years were not so kind to it.
Entrance

Moat This, coupled with the house inside the grounds hides the enormity of the remains and area it is contained in.
