  • Surprise visitor

A real surprise this morning at my local reserve was an Avocet feeding almost in front of the hide. First one I've seen here and only the second recorded, these super elegant birds are rarely seen inland in Lincolnshire although quite a few nest on coastal lagoons.

Difficult conditions as I was shooting a black and white bird directly into the morning sun:

First class shot. Never seen one before outside of a mag, pleased you posted this one.

      Nice female.
