Some great entries (nine if I counted right). My eye keeps getting drawn back to andym's Pythonbrug. Over to you andym.

    Congratulations Andy.

Thanks for running the challenge Pat.
Sorry to read about the phone going missing as it were.

The phone cost $1000 and the deductible on my homeowner's insurance is $1000. Oh well. Fortunately I also had an iPhone 5 with me and it worked out pretty well supplementing my Canon DSLR.

    Good call, Pat.

Andy's Pyhtonbrug is a curious looking bridge.

    Well done Andy.

I bet that put the dampers on your holiday, for a while. Hope your insurance covers the phone.

    What a bummer.

If you are interested, this was taken (but not actually used in the end) for an article to demonstrate how you can use bracketing and HDR to produce a normal, undramatic, tone result. It's five images exposed from -2EV to +2EV at 1EV steps and merged to HDR in Lightroom.

Here is the same view with a camera JPEG, unadjusted:

The camera used was an old Olympus Pen E-PL3, which has a sensor known to have not great dynamic range.

It's the bridge over the Grand Union Canal in Apsley just a few minutes from my home.

Nice view, Gez. I have walked over that bridge on numerous occasions. But never seen it form that spot.
