  • It's been a while so here's a spooky(ish) church shot

We went down "home" to Kent last weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary (24th!) with my family and on the way back on Sunday morning we stopped off at the old village church to put some flowers on my Mum's grave.

There were some dark clouds coming across the fields behind the church on the way back to the car and it looked fairly spooky so I took a couple of shots. I didn't think they looked very interesting in colour so I thought I'd have a play with mono (courtesy of OptikVerve's Virtual Photographer) and added a bit of diffuse glow in CS3.

I quite liked the end result - what do you think?

Stuart I like the image but not too keen on the treatment. I have spent many hours of late restoring some old photos of our local village. This would fit in nicely with them. Perhaps a bit finer grain and less contrast would have worked better. If it's the old photograph look you were after, you got very close to it.

I like it very much, but also think less grain would be better! I love playing around with Optik verve! I really like the mono effect with antique setting & adjusting sliders!

The heavy grain is more noticable on the extreme left, maybe cropping up to the tree would make it less prominent.

          i love it!

I would almost be inclined to add a person on a different reduced opacity layer to give a ghostly hint! Seriously though, love it!

Now, there's an idea! If I can just get 'er indoors to wrap herself in a bed-sheet and pop up the garden...
