I have decided to put this pic up for critique. I personally like it and might enter it into one of our Club Competitions. I am sure people would look at it and say "This or that would make it better." Please give me your views.

I am aware that the little boys face may seem oversaturated and I would like your opinion on this. I saw it on my friend's computer in Majorca and was horrified at how orangey/red it looked. It may be my computer or it may be hers, but please let me know how realistic the colours are and anything else you would alter please.

I always find it easier to show what I would do than explain it, so here is my take on the image.

Thanks Ron. I think that is nearer the mark. I have just looked at the original and it is a touch more saturated than yours but unless you are a photographer and have the pics side by side, you may not notice.

No I forgot that my resizing prog. is set to sharpen after resizing and that is the result of over doing it. It was mainly the crop that I wanted to show with the main subject slightly off center. I also desaturated a bit to reduce the orange colour.

Yes, I think it is better. When cropping, I tend to try to leave things "Whole" like the little girl's pony tail, but after all the main focus was the little boy so I think you are right. Also just off centre is better, I think.

Did you use a "Smoothing" program as the little boys face seems to be very smooth - perhaps not, it's probably because of the desaturation. Do I also see vignetting in the corners, or is that also due to the desaturation?

Poor little fella,just one guy amoungst all those girls, no wonder he feels left out and dejected, the image looks fine on my monitor, remember these guys and gals are not european and have a different complection and coloring. nice image. Here is my attempt, adjusted levels,highlights and shadows, and channel mixer, unsharp mask.
