Really like this, a very crisp image. I doubt you have shot this with a compact. What camera and lens do you have?
    cheers

Hi Stephen Im presuming you mean it is a compact, and its nice that you have the time to check the exif. I dont no the camera, but it would seem it takes excellent pics

          Re: First image displayed

Welcome to the forum Dianne. You have a wonderful first image there. Although it is the first image you have posted within this forum, methinks you are a very competent photographer. The iris is beautiful. It has been mentioned about the good lighting in NZ and I do feel that this is a contributor to the end product. However, nothing happens without the skill of the photographer and when the light is very bright it is all too easy to get the burnt out areas. This image IMHO is 'Spot on'.

I would reiterate Pol's request to know what you used for your black background. It works well.

It is obvious that this is not just a grab shot. You have given it a great deal of thought.

I look forward to seeing more of your images.

            Re: First image displayed

            Hi,

Have enjoyed all the comments I have received. The camera is a Panasonic "compact" - mind you it has a 12 times zoom.
Now the background. It is simply a piece of black card and was put far enough behind the flower so any texture did not register.
            Thank you all again.

            Dianne
