  • Backlit

A couple of weeks ago I went to see the folk fusion group, Imagined Village. As usual at the Assembly (Leamington) the light was very difficult and I wasn't totally happy with a lot of the images, but did rather like this one.

Suggestions on how to improve when faced with this kind of lighting would be appreciated. As I've "saved for web", the exif will have disappeared, so this was taken with a f/1.8 50mm at 1/250 and iso800.

I like this one too although I would say it looks like she is about to fall over backwards?

      Re: Backlit

I love this and think that her leaning back makes for a nice framing.
Also...if she hadn't been leaning back like that the blob of green light would have been above her head which wouldn't have looked so good.
I think I would have removed the guy at bottom right though and that small green blob

        Thank you for the comments.

The rest of the images are on my blog (http://www.carolannphotos.com/?p=1175) - and you'll see that I've taken your suggestion, Pops, and cloned out Simon Emmerson in the background and the flare on his instrument.

What would it look like in B&W...would it produce more drama or would it maybe too dark to convert successfully.
