Samsung Digimax S800 problem

Hi,

my camera was one and half year old, and started making white photos.
Repair diagnostic : contamination, not taken in garantee, repair not economical.

Has anyone had such a problem ?
Isn't the answer "contamination" just a way for Samsung not to do a repair, since it's not done within the garantee contract ?

'Contamination' would seem to suggest that something got inside the camera and caused a problem - most likely cause, water or some other kind of moisture. Dp you live somewhere humid or do you go to the beach or swim a lot?

Hi Ian,

thanks for your reply. I live in Ireland, so yeah it's humid I guess, but not to the point to affect cameras... I can't rule out that some dust or humidity got into the camera, but I did not expose it to any extreme conditions. I also have since 6 years a Olympus Mju II ( not digital ) that travelled a lot with me, and surely suffered a lot more than the Samsung in 1 and 1/2 year.

I will talk to the guy at the shop, but he just got the camera back from the repair centre so I doubt he'll have much to say.
