What a great example of how the photographer can be fundamentally more important than the camera itself. This year's BBC Countryfile photographic competition was won by Pen Rashbash, her photo voted top by BBC Countryfile viewers was taken in the depths of winter while rescuing sheep from drifting snow. Her camera? A battered three year old digital compact camera.
There is a second 'winning' photo chosen by the members of the programme team and this was a macro shot of a dragon fly basking on some old poppy seed heads against the sun. My understanding is that this shot was taken with a Fujifilm FinePix bridge camera. So that's 2-0 to the non-DSLRs!
It's not necessarily what you use but how you use it!
