Well, the Icelandic volcano with unpronounceable named failed to spoil Sony's party earlier this week - just (the destination airport of Split, in Croatia) was closed on Sunday and 300 people, including myself, arrived the following day. The organisers were chewing a lot of fingernails over the weekend!

Sony duly revealed, rather earlier than anticipated, its new NEX hybrid camera system, and of course we have covered the launch and posted sample images.

I think this is my first appearance on the site on video :) Get used to it - it's representative of more to come!

And if that wasn't enough, I was interviewed on Croatian TV news, mainly being asked about what I thought of country. I couldn't think of much to say that was wrong, apart from the fact that we were a bit unlucky with the weather - it was overcast during our shooting tour and there was a huge cloudburst during in the evening of the same day. Luckily, the sun briefly emerged for my DIY hotel balcony video report!
