August is turning out to be month focusing on ink-jet printing here on DPNow. Today we announce a great prize draw enabling DPNow readers in the UK and Ireland the chance of winning packs of Ilford's latest ink-jet papers and we'll be running a series of tutorials on ink-jet photo printing this month.
We're offering each of ten DPNow readers four A4 photo paper packs; ILFORD Premium Photo : Glossy and Satin (each 250gsm), plus ILFORD Photo : Glossy and Satin (each 200gsm). To be one of the lucky ten, all you need to do is follow the instructions at the bottom of this page.
Ilford is Europe's premier manufacture of photo papers, with an impressive manufacturing plant in Switzerland. The company specialises in the development of paper bases, coatings and even inks.
The Ilford papers we're featuring in this month's competition are Ilford's consumer brands, designed for use with ink-jet printers widely used at home as well as in the office. With their microporous surface structure, Ilford photo papers are instant drying. Premium types have an extra base thickness, 250 grams per square metre (gsm), for that heavier quality feel. The standard paper is 200gsm, which is actually heavier than some rival 'premium' papers. Both Ilford papers are available in high gloss and satin finishes.
