D80 Firmware Update 1.01 - Windows

About this firmware:
The following improvements have been made with firmware version 1.01.
- The viewfinder electronic analog exposure display will indicate if the brightness of the subject exceeds camera's exposure control. This will occur in Program auto (P) exposure mode, this will also occur in Shutter-priority auto (S) or Aperture-priority auto (A) exposure modes if the built-in flash is raised.
- Effects of processing performed when the Long exp. NR item in the shooting menu is enabled have been improved.
- When attempting to edit images, which have already been edited using a computer, using options in the D80's retouch menu, the camera sometimes froze. Therefore, images that have been edited using a computer can no longer be edited using the camera.
- Errors in English, Polish and Swedish menus have been corrected.

D40 Firmware Update 1.10 - Windows

About this firmware:
The following improvements have been made with firmware version 1.10.
- The camera will be Certified for Windows Vista adding support for the new USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). The PTP option in the setup menu’s USB item will be displayed as MTP/PTP.
- The range of years that can be selected in the Date option in the setup menu's World time has been expanded to 2000 – 2099.
- When a white balance setting is fine tuned, + or − will be displayed with the white balance icon in the camera shooting information display and shooting menu.
- The electronic analog exposure display will flash in the viewfinder and on the shooting information display, if the brightness of the subject exceeds camera's exposure control. This will occur in Program auto (P) exposure mode when the built-in flash is raised.
- An issue has been fixed that caused the AF area mode setting to revert to the default setting when the monitor and exposure meters turns off automatically (auto meter off) or the camera was turned off in a Digital Vari-Program mode.
- Correction of an issue that caused the ISO auto feature to be disabled, when a two-button reset operation was performed if the ISO sensitivity was set to any option other than ISO 200.
- When attempting to edit images, which have already been edited using a computer, using options in the D40's retouch menu, the camera sometimes froze. Therefore, images that have been edited using a computer can no longer be edited using the camera.
